Bestiarum Games is a global online store built on the Shopify platform that sells tabletop miniatures and operates a large-scale monthly subscription business.
The client needed to optimize their Shopify setup to better handle their subscription and loyalty programs. The main task was to rewrite the backend logic of the store: instead of an irregular schedule, bonus stamps had to be automatically added to user accounts precisely when the monthly Shopify billing occurs. Additionally, the project involved a complete custom redesign of the standard Shopify customer account page to make the interface modern, intuitive, and easy for buyers to use.
Project Challenges
The main difficulty of the project was that the loyalty logic was connected to three different systems at once: Shopify, Appstle Subscriptions, and Appstle Loyalty.
- The challenge wasn't just changing the bonus amounts, but completely restructuring the backend mechanics so that rewards trigger perfectly at the exact moment of the monthly subscription renewal.
- Since data synchronization between Shopify and Appstle can sometimes experience delays, backend flows had to be thoroughly audited, various renewal scenarios simulated, and reward logs closely analyzed to ensure seamless automation.
- It was crucial to preserve the existing subscription setup and avoid disrupting active users. All reward rules and bonus calculations were updated and verified cautiously to transition everyone to the new monthly format smoothly.
The Solution
After analyzing the store’s Shopify setup, Appstle subscription flow, and existing loyalty mechanics, the reward system was completely restructured and optimized.
- Previously, bonus stamps were only credited once every two months. The backend logic was rebuilt to sync rewards directly with monthly renewals, ensuring stamps are automatically added with every billing cycle. The standard bonus distribution mechanics were also updated for all consecutive payments.
- The standard Shopify account page received a complete UX/UI overhaul. The updated, user-friendly interface gives buyers an intuitive dashboard to easily manage their active subscriptions, view history, and track loyalty rewards.

As a result of the updates, the Shopify store now features a highly transparent and flexible loyalty system. Subscribers receive bonus stamps more frequently, and the underlying mechanics seamlessly match the monthly billing cycle. Additionally, the improved customer dashboard interface makes navigating the account clear and user-friendly.
The project continues to evolve. Current efforts are focused on a complete website redesign to bring the entire online store’s visual style and user experience into a unified, modern system.
